Point ChatGPT, Codex, or any MCP client at the CarAI streamable HTTP endpoint.

1. ChatGPT / OpenAI Plugins Directory

  1. Open the CarAI listing (when published) or load the package under openai-plugin/.
  2. Confirm MCP URL points at https://mcp.carai.com/mcp (or local for prototype).
  3. Optional: add an API key in host secrets for higher limits / leads — never paste keys into plugin.json.

2. Codex / other MCP clients

Point streamable HTTP at the MCP endpoint. Example local config: openai-plugin/mcp.local.json.

3. API keys

  • Anonymous reads allowed (rate-limited).
  • create_lead requires Bearer key with leads:write.
  • Fixture keys use carai_test_* prefix — demo only.

4. First queries

  • Search near US ZIP 94105, make Toyota.
  • Try Tesla near 10001, or hybrid SUVs under $40k near 60601.
  • Inventory is US ZIP only on this prototype.
